I got my hair colored dark for the Fall/Winter. I really like it. I got it done by a girl named Darrion. My niece is named Darrion. Who ever would have thought I would have two Darrion's in my cell phone?? :)
Excited about going to the park!

Creepy Crawlies!!

The Hibiscus is my most favorite flower in my flower bed. It has become pretty popular to some welcome and some not-so-welcome guests...

Can you see the green spider hiding on the leaf??

I love providing a home for the froggies. They're on my front porch every night.

Black widow spider!!

There's an entire world surrounding us every day that we can so easily miss because of being so immersed in our own little bubbles we call "life". I find our giant world full of creatures fascinating. While walking the dogs, Kevin and I have stumbled upon a skunk, raccoons, an armadillo, and a coyote. And during the two years we have lived in our home, we have found a copper head crawling down our stairs during Hurricane Ike, and we found another copper head crawling on the face of our house by the window. As you can see from my previous posts, we've had so many beautiful birds delight us with a visit to our bird feeders or simply a perch upon our fence. A tree farm and a cow pasture back up to our backyard, so we always hear the cows and see them grazing, not to mention the many deer that line Kuykendahl as we drive home. Oh and I can't forget the time we left the garage door open and Kevin had to take the entire couch apart to find the little mouse that ran inside!

God is a marvelous creator! May we never forget to appreciate the millions of little not-so-human worlds surrounding our own!

MY NEWEST SONG!

Here is the link to my new song "I Belong to You":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-A-fXsjz4l4

We played it at Woodlands Church aka Fellowship of The Woodlands this weekend. I wrote this song this summer in July.

The inspiration for this song- After going through some difficult battles that left me feeling hopeless and completely torn apart, I experienced God's strength and love as He set my feet on solid ground and completely turned my situation around for the good. I discovered that no matter how difficult or painful a situation became, I belonged to the Almighty God and He had the power to set me free from the despair that I was feeling. I made the choice to walk by faith and believe that God would bring glory out of the troubles I was facing... and He did!

Rain, Rain

Notice the little chew marks on the window sill. I decided a long time ago not to let little things like that bother me because 1. they can be fixed and 2. I try not to put too much value in materialistic things because they can be taken away in an instant. Besides, he is so cute and his little chew marks add character.

My New Hair Cut

I wanted something a little more messy and choppy looking, and what I got was quite a bit shorter than I had anticipated. Thankfully I like it and so does Kevin. :)

I look so much like my sister, Sarah, here!!

3 Year Anniversary Photoshoot

I think we both anticipate year 4 to be our greatest year of marriage yet! I am thankful for God bringing us through all of the hard times and for teaching us what love is really all about. It is clear to me that Kevin was exactly what I needed and that I was exactly what he needed. Nobody could ever compliment who I am the way that he does. I am a blessed woman and I am so excited about our future together!

Nashville

I played a showcase at Rocketown in Nashville, Tn last month.
Everything went great and we were really blessed to be there.
We stayed at the home of Greg & Janna Long from Avalon.
They have been leading worship with us at our church here in Texas
on the weekends. They have been an amazing blessing! Everything
out of their mouths- singing or words- is anointed by God.
I take many mental notes when I'm around them. They're so
inspirational and I feel like I can learn a lot from them.

Anyway, here are some pics from our trip!

Here we are the morning of our showcase going over our music.
Paul played bass, Nick played electric guitar, and Kevin played the drums...

Waiting to go on... Setting up...

Here we go!

Here are a couple of my favorite plaques
that decorated the walls of The Long's basement...

Dove Awards...
Avalon CD taken to space. Pretty cool!

Eating after our showcase...

Kevin's cousin, Lexi, came to our showcase.
She's great!

Visiting the beautiful campus of Belmont College...

Touring around Nashville...

Kevin and I spent our last morning in Nashville at The Pfunky Griddle.
It was a really neat little restaurant where you cook your own breakfast at your table.Sounds strange to some, but it was really fun and REALLY good! You get endless pancakes and they were absolutely delicious!! And the bacon was amazing as well. It is a must have for anybody touring through/living in Nashville!

We hung out with Lexi a lot. She lives on some beautiful acreage with horses.
We made smores and sang by the fire the last night we were there. So fun!

Lexi showed us her dad's studio where he records overdubs for movie trailors, commercials, t.v. shows, Animal Planet, you name it. He currently narrates Sports Science. You and I have probably heard his voice on t.v. before!
Kevin and Nick jammed a little in his studio...

It was great meeting more of my family!
They are great Christian people who I hope to see again soon!
After Nashville, Kevin and I stopped at a Bed & Breakfast in Memphis before heading back to Houston in honor of our 3 year anniversary. I special ordered us a cake to help celebrate the joyous occasion...

We stayed in a private little cottage where breakfast was served to our door the next morning...

The little cottage B&B was my idea. I thought it would be a different, romantic way to celebrate our anniversary while out in Nashville. The B&B had great amenities like a swimming pool, hot tub, tons of dvds to watch, and a pool table. HOWEVER, the decore was a little...pink. We had a pink bathtub, a pink toilet, angel wallpaper, angel trinkets, collector dolls, bedding and curtains from the 80's, as well as an ever-present smell of an antique shop, all over the room! So, that being said, it wasn't very romantic, but something we will definitely never forget! haha! I think we'll just stick with the good ole fashion hotel & beach trip for next year's anniversary.
